Fine Art Friday

Lunenburg, with a population of only 2,500, has an abundant collection of fine artists and galleries. 'Fine Art Fridays' was created to showcase these fine artists along with other talent throughout Nova Scotia's South Shore. The below are just a few of the artists and galleries in the area.

The Cranston Gallery

Contemporary Art Gallery in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia that showcases the work of Sharon Fox Cranston, Guy Cranston, and Toller Cranston.

Double Whale Handwoven Designs

Artist: Marrie Berkelaar 

Producing one-of-a-kind garments, blankets, and more for over 30 years. Each piece is handwoven and created with Atlantic Canadian wool in her tiny studio showroom in historic Old Town Lunenburg.

Folk Art Festival

The Nova Scotia Folk Art Festival is a fund raising initiative of the Lunenburg Heritage Society. This juried event showcases the art of 50+ Nova Scotian folk artists working in wood, metal, fibre, paint, pencil and found items.

The Lunenburg Art Gallery

A community art organization whose mandate is to present fine art to Lunenburg town and surrounding area in Nova Scotia.

Peer Gallery Contemporary Art

Peer Gallery is an artists’ co-operative gallery emphasizes a diversity in contemporary art viewing.

Abstraction and figurative themes in painting, drawing, mixed media, fused glass work, wood turning, original prints are some of the forms of artistic expression shown. 


Power House Art

Located in the heart of Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Power House opened in 2011 and is part of a larger working studio and commercial gallery that supports established and emmerging artists.
